Finishes

At Foxxwood, we use only the highest quality materials when building our furniture. This means that when choosing the best finish to add to our products, we took into consideration all the factors.

Rubio Monocoat

In the end, we decided on Rubio Monocoat as our main wood finish. Rubio is a hard oil wax that chemically bonds to the wood fibers, creating a lasting and strong barrier to protect your wood from moisture and humidity. The added wax and hardener create a protective film against light scratches and scuffs and can be easily touched up with a light sanding and some fresh oil.

Care

Oil finishes can make your furniture last for generations when taken care of properly, To do so, all you need to do is wipe the main surfaces down with some fresh maintainance oil once or twice a year, depending on level of use. This can be done by simply spreading a small amount of the renew maintainance oil across the surface with a soft cloth until it is evenly distributed and the shine is uniform.

It's better to have too little left on than too much. After taking off the excess.

Repeat as needed, approxamately once or twice a year.
